As the main monomer of epoxy resin, BPA has been widely used in metal packaging for more than 60 years. Until the 1990s, Scientists successively found that BPA has estrogen-like effects, which triggered a series of studies on the health effects of BPA. To prevent food safety risks, the European Union, China and the United States have banned the use of BPA in infant food packaging. France issued a decree No.2012-1442 in December 2012, banning the use of BPA in all food packaging from 2015. On May 11, 2015, BPA was listed in California Proposition 65 because of its reproductive toxicity; the United States also began to adopt BPAni coatings comprehensively. The EU regulation (EU) 2018/213, which released on February 14, 2018, revised the migration limit of BPA in the food contact coating to 0.05 mg/kg, and requiring no migration of BPA for baby food. The regulation applies directly to all EU members and will come into force on 6 September 2018. It is foreseeable that this regulation will continue to accelerate the pace of conversion of BPAni coatings in the EU and even the world. To meet market and consumer demand for safe packing, 3N Company developed suitable BPAni solutions for food metal packaging. Since 2015, 3N successively introduced series of BPAni products such as 3N3144 polyester, 3N3458 organosol, 3N3333 vinyl, 3N3675 acrylic to meet domestic and international food safety requirements for easy open ends, food cans, steel drums and other metal packaging. These products used in the food packaging of different famous brands at home and abroad, have gained the domestic and foreign customers praise.
